600-Day Journey Overcoming Challenges
Few people know that to have the modern Ba Na Hills cable car system of today, engineers and workers went through 600 days and nights of arduous and challenging construction. From the stage of surveying rugged terrain to transporting materials and machinery up the high mountain, every step was a extraordinary effort.
Initially, the Ba Na Hills cable car project was doubted about its feasibility due to the extremely difficult terrain. However, with the determination and consensus of Sun Group, along with the relentless efforts of Vietnamese and international engineers, the project was implemented and completed excellently. One of the biggest difficulties was transporting construction materials up the mountain. In the early stages, everything had to be transported by human power. Later, a rudimentary service cable line was built, paving the way for transporting heavy machinery and materials, speeding up construction progress.
On March 25, 2009, the first Suoi Mo – Ba Na cable car line officially went into operation, marking an important milestone in the development history of Da Nang tourism. Ba Na Hills cable car is not only a means of transportation, but also a symbol of perseverance, creativity and the spirit of overcoming difficulties of Vietnamese people.
